LE̍T-KAN (HÁI-LÊNG ÔNG)
Tī chi̍t ê joa̍h-thiⁿ Le̍k-kan chē tī Ba-tek-hái ê chio̍h-poâⁿ, Gîm i it-seng pi-siong ê koa, ēng só͘ giâ ê khîm lâi toâⁿ.
Chhiⁿ-chhuì ê hái-éng, ek-lâi ek-khì tī i chē ê kha piⁿ; Tī hit hái lāi ū só͘ thiàⁿ ê bó͘, cha-bô͘-kiáⁿ kap hāu-siⁿ.
I gîm m̄-sī hái lāi hái goā, hong-kong kéng-sek kap só͘ ū; I gîm lūn toē chiūⁿ, toē-bīn chiūⁿ, iā bô pa̍t-hāng ê kò͘-sū.
Lī-khui hái-éng, chiū kàu toē-bīn, tī-hia só͘ khoàⁿ kap só͘ thiaⁿ; Chē tī hoāⁿ-téng, lóng bô ià-siān, pi-siong chham-chhoeh lâi chhut-siaⁿ.
Gîm kóng, i ū toē-bīn piàn-kiâⁿ sì-hng, iû-le̍k ta̍k só͘-chāi; Khoàⁿ-kìⁿ lâng-lâng sim-koaⁿ chân-jím, pí tī hái--ê khah lī-hāi.
Gîm kóng, sin-sū, bo̍k-su ióng-sū, lâi hù kiat-hun lé; Bo̍k-su mn̄g kóng, “Kim-ji̍t kiat-iok ê ióng-sū siáⁿ lâng leh!”
ìn kóng, “goá m̄-sī ióng-sū, sī tuì hái lâi, bô sio̍k tī toe7” Sin-sū pui̍h to, siok-lú âu-kiò, bo̍k-su tio̍h kiaⁿ boē kóng-oē.
Gîm kóng, lé-sek bē soah, koáⁿ-kín khí-sin, lī-khui lé-pài thiaⁿ; iân lō͘ thó͘-khuì toē chiūⁿ ê lâng sim-koaⁿ ok-to̍k, chin thang kiaⁿ.
Sin-niû ta̍k ji̍t chē tī hái lāi, thî-khàu, ba̍k-sái nā lo̍h hō͘; khàu kóng, “goá ê tiōng-hu, khó-sioh! Khó-sioh! M̄-sī Ki-tok-tô͘.
Le̍k-kan thiaⁿ liáu, sim-koaⁿ kan-khó͘, koh-chài chi̍t-pài chiūⁿ toē-bīn; ài chhē bo̍k-su, niá-siū soé-lé, thang tit tek-kiù ê bûn-pîn.
I ū chi̍t-am, giâ kim ê khîm, sim-koaⁿ ut-chut, lō͘-piⁿ chē; Khoàⁿ-kìⁿ bo̍k-su, sin chhēng lé-ho̍k, khiâ tī pe̍h-bé tuì hia koè.
“Le̍k-kan siáⁿ-sū lâi mn̄g soé-lé! Thian-kok bô sio̍k tī lí-ê, Oh-tit! Oh-tit! Siat-sú nā oē, goá ê chhâ-koái beh puh-gê.”
Kàu-ke̍k kî-koài!! Chhâ-koái puh gê, siⁿ ki hoat hio̍h, kap toā châng; Bo̍k-su khui siaⁿ o-ló Siōng-tè, hoaⁿ-hí chín-kiù bê-lō͘ lâng.
“Toē ū chhin-chhiat! hái ū chhin-chhiat! ji̍t ge̍h chhiⁿ-sîn kap ta̍k luī; Ah! Thiⁿ, Toē, Hái, Siōng-tè--To̍k-to̍k lâng ê chhin-chhiat tī to̍h-uī?”
Hit-tia̍p liáu āu, Le̍k-kan siông-siông chē tī Pak hái ê chio̍h poâⁿ; Pi-siong thó͘-khuì, chhut-siaⁿ lâi gîm, ēng só͘ toà ê khîm lâi toâⁿ.
LE̍K-KAN THE NECKAN
(Le̍k-kan sī chuí-sîn, piān-gî-siōng e̍k choè; Hái-lêng-ông)
Goân-bûn sī chi̍t chat 4 kù ê si. Chok-chiá sī Eng-kok kūn-sè ê toā si-jîn, bûn-gē phoe-phêng-chiá, iā-sī toā kàu-io̍k ka A-ló Má thài (Nathew Arnold 1822-1888;按:應為Mathew). Chit-siú chiū-sī I só͘ siá “kóng-oē-thé” si-tiong ê chi̍t-phiⁿ. Lán ná tha̍k chiū suî-sî bêng-pe̍k, chit ê kò͘-sū m̄-sī si̍t ê, sī choè ê.
Taⁿ e̍k tī chia ê, boē kham-tit kóng sī si, in-uī lán ê si ū lán ê kui-kú; nā-sī chit siú lóng bô chiàu kui-kú. Ta̍k-choā ū 15 jī iā 1 choā choè chi̍t chat; chit-khoán ê thé phah-sǹg bô teh thang khoàⁿ; e̍k án-ni si in-uī ài hō͘ láng khah hó tha̍k nā-tiāⁿ.
Chóng-sī e̍k-chiá ê ì-sù m̄-sī iàu-kín tī kò͘-sū chin, á-sī ké; sī thé chiâⁿ-hêng á-bô chiâⁿ-heng, Sī khah iáu-kin tí lāi-tiōng só͘ pau-hâm ê ì-sù, khoàⁿ ū sím-mi̍h thang choè lán sìn-chiá ê kà-sī á-sī lī-ek á-bô?
Pí-phēng lâi kóng-
Chiàu lán só͘ tha̍k,
Le̍k-kan thang chí sím-mi̍h khoán ê lâng?
Hái sī chí sím-mi̍h, toē sī chí sím-mi̍h?
Le̍k-kan ê bó͘ siáⁿ-sū lâi thî-khàu?
Bo̍k-su m̄ chiap-la̍p Le̍k-kan niá soé-lé sī cháiⁿ-iūⁿ?
Chhâ-koái oē puh-gê sī hián-chhut sím-mi̍h?
Á-sī ū sím-mi̍h pa̍t-hāng thang-choè lán siūⁿ ê bûn-toê, lán nā ióng-sêng ná-tha̍k ná-siūⁿ ê si̍p-koàn, chiū lán oē tit-thang ke-thiⁿ chin-choē ê lī-ek.
Chhiáⁿ lia̍t-uī ê tha̍k-chiá tha̍k chit phiⁿ, m̄-thang kan-ta khoàⁿ kò͘-sū choè sim-sek, tàu-kù choē hó-thiaⁿ; nā án-ni chiū siá tī-chia ê bo̍k-tek sī khang-khang.
